Join Nefesh in Elysian Park for a Havdalah picnic and ceremony. Saturday, March 19 6:00pm Community picnic 6:30pm Kids & Family activity 7:00pm Havdalah ceremony 7:30pm Time to connect We'll gather to eat and connect at 6:00 with the Havdalah ceremony starting just before sundown at 7:00. Once we've welcomed in the new week, we invite you to stick around for more blanket hopping, star gazing, or a spontaneous song session. What to bring: friends and family! something to eat and drink! Ground cover, layers, bug spray, and if you've got access to them, some fresh, fragrant herbs (like rosemary). KID STUFF We’ll bring the goods and guidance for DIY besamim crafting. Kid care support will also be available until 8:00. HEALTH & SAFETY This is an outdoor event and masks are optional. If this is your first in person Nefesh experience, we'll ask to see proof of vaccination for everyone over 12 when you check in. PARKING & ACCESSIBILITY Parking available on site at the top of the hill. If you’re up for a bit of a climb uphill, there’s also parking on Scott Rd. The park includes grassy field and slopes as well as paved stairs, ramps and pathways leading from the parking lot to a paved recreation area with tables and benches and 4 accessible, gender neutral bathrooms. The ceremony will include acoustic music and amplified speech. ASL interpretation provided 6:30-8pm. VOLUNTEERS We are always grateful for the support of volunteers at our events. If you are able to volunteer, select that ticket type below, and plan arrive at 5:30 to help set up and welcome folks as they arrive. We will also need help at the end of the night cleaning up and packing out, with a promise not to keep you past 9:30. If you've got any questions, email Ian (ischiffer@nefeshla.org).
